Aurangzeb banned the playing of pungi because it produce unpleasant and Shirly sound. barber revived it by taking a natural hollow steam that was longer and border then pungi. and he made seven whole on it by opening and closing these whole a musical sound was produced . this was fast played in sahas chamber and played by nai or barber so it was called as shehnai
