peasant movement in awadh was led by baba ramachandra.
this was led because the peasants there were against the landlords and rich people who demanded high revenue from tenants and the poor had to do begar which is work for no money.
tenants wanted security of tenure
the tenants wanted the unpaid rent to be eliminated.
in many places the panchayats set up nai dhobi bands whicch were against washermen and even barbers.
