Banda Singh Bahadur was a brave and devoted Sikh military general who fought many battles for Guru Gobind Singh.
He attacked Sadhaura in 1709, to avenge the execution of Pir Buddhu Shah, who was a great follower of Guru Gobind Singh.
Banda Bahadur defeated and killed Nawab Usman Khan, who was responsible for that execution and converted the ancestral home of Pir Buddhu Shah into a Gurdwara in his memory.
