Explanation:
Bepin Choudhury's Lapse of Memory is a very interesting story. On a book shop, he met a person who was constantly smiling at him. He said that they have met on a trip to Ranchi on October 1958. While Bepin was sure on the fact that he never went to Ranchi. He met many such people who confirmed him that, 'yes, he was in Ranchi'. Paresh Chanda, the young doctor had never dealt with such case. At the end of the story we come to know that Chunilal has fooled him. And people who were confirming that he was in Ranchi were all a part of this planning. Chunilal did all these as he wanted to take revenge from Bepin Babu for whatever he did to him. Chunilal had been coming for a long time to Bepin to get his help to find the job but Bepin always ignored him.
Whole story is based on a psychological trick.
