The event was historic as the audience including Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi were celebrating the Independence of India from the Britishers.

Khan was honoured to greet the independent Indians with his Raag Kafi. Jawaharlal Nehru address the audience with his speech Trust with Destiny.
