As it results to the cutting and destructing of forests and trees. It also caused pollution. It alao affected the fertility of soil.

because it harmful to land it is also known as burn n slash land it is a type of cultivation in which a farmer grows crop on land after harvesting they move to another land for growing their crops . that's why British considered shifting cultivation is harmful to our environment
