Hey mate here is your answer
Eventually Bengal became the nerve centre of freedom struggle. Now undivided Bengal had a non-homogeneous population, from both religious and linguistic angle. The enlightened section was Bengali Hindu hence it was important for british to minimise them and turn them into minority in both east and west bengal. East Bengal had a larger Bengali speaking but muslim population where West Bengal had a larger Hindi Odiya speaking population because then Bihar and Odisha were part of West Bengal. British spilled the venom of hatred between Hindus and Muslims of Bengali society.

Hii there

1) The real motive was to break " the growing solidarity of bengali nationalism" and strike at the roots of bengali nationalism.

2)bengal at that time was considered to be nerve centre of indian nationalism.

3) hence, Britishers desired to crush the new spirit by dividing the politically advanced and nationalistic communities into two seperate provinces.

4)another motive behind the partition was to give in the policy of divide and rule ie to drive a wedge between the hindus and the muslims.

5)to demonstrate the strength of the British Raj.

6)Britishers had great dislike for democratic ideals and they believed that people of india , illiterate as they were called , could have no political aspirations.

7) to them , the demands of the indian national congress had no meaning.

so they partitioned bengal.

Hope this would help you
