trees were required to make navy ships.
trees were also required to make sleppers which were essential to hold the tracks together.
due to rising population, the cleared the forest for cultivation to feed the rising population.

BECAUSE THEY WANT TO ESTABLISH HIS COLONIES IN INDIAN REGION..... SO THEY INCREASE RATE OF DEFORESTATION AND CONVERT it INTO IT BIG CITY
