Why did Buddha and Mahavir teach in Pali and Prakrit instead of Sanskrit? Long answer​

Because they were the language of the common while sanskrit was considered

by brahmins to be holy and was dedicated to propagate brahmin ideology

(which later gave birth to modern hinduism) and education was a privilege only

for the brahmins and kshathriyas.
