Hii frnd here is ur answer.
Srilankan government adopted majoritarian measure to establish Sinhala Supremacy.in 1956, an Act was passed to recognise Sinhala as the only official language thus diregarding Tamil.
A new constitution stipulated that the state shall protect and foster Buddhism.
Srilankan Tamils felt that none of the major political parties by the Buddhist sinhala leaders were sensitive to their language and culture.
The relations between the Sinhala Nd Tamil communities strained overtime and soon it turned into a civil war.

The main reasons for the civil war in Sri Lanka were-
Britishers policy of discrimination from colonial times. They adopted policy of giving more representation to Tamils in education , jobs, government civil services both at higher and lower post. While the population of Sinhalese were in majority.
Adoption of parliamentary democracy with majoritarian rule where Tamil could never gain majority in the system.
Discrimination towards Tamils . Sinhalese language made the only official language in 1956. Tamil made to resign from government jobs. Restriction for Tamils in college education, Tamil media and literature banned this leads to riots in 1956,58,77 and 83.
Formation of LTTE in 1972 with their ultimate demand of Eelum.
Indian-Sri Lanka peace accord and continue interference of India in Sri Lanka
hope helps ☺️☺️☺️
