why did Colonial authors want to write in their novels to attract British young generations
Answers
Colonial authors like Rudyard Kipling, Joseph Conrad etc were writers who criticised the British colonial atrocities subtly in their works. But it has been observed that though they were critical, they also harboured certain amount racial discrimination and colonial authority about them which, in today's perspective, should not be taken with much seriousness as they were the products of their times. Their stories also were written to interest the young British readers as they were filled with adventurous escapades and frontier wars. Rudyard Kipling's 'Kim' or 'The Jungle Book' are a fantasy back in Britain and Kipling wrote essentially to invoke the curiosity of the West towards the East.
In the modern age though, many of these are studied with the tag of anti-inperialism and racial perspectives.
