Answer:
Fourth Anglo Mysore War
Mysore's alliance with the French was seen as a threat to the East India Company and Mysore was attacked from all four sides. Tipu's army was outnumbered 4:1 in this war. ... Much of the remaining Mysorean territory was annexed by the British, the Nizam and the Marathas.

The British attacked Mysore they thought that if they wanted British Monarch in India they had ro deal with Tipu a king who proclaimed himself a king and had 6 in his fortress. He had equippen himself with the same weapons used by Modern-British.Tipu had on the other hand, recieved the help from Napoleons meanwhile France was passing through a revolution.Thats why British did not want Tipu and French over throw British strenght. So in the year 1799,British attacked him at a place called Seringapatam.British easily won the battle not just because of their unmatchable army but also due to the betrayal of Tipus most loyal assistant Mir Qasim.
