why did congress didnt support "no rent" campaign of the peasant community?

Congress didn't want to go against the rich peasants, who helped Congress financially. Moreover, "no rent" movement was led by socialist and communist groups, something Congress veterans were against.

apprehensive of raising issues that might upset the rich peasants and landlords the Congress was only willingly to support no rent campaigns in rest places.... so the relationship between the poor peasants and the Congress remains smartains .........
