From 1875 until 1955, Edward James Corbett CIE VD was a British hunter, tracker, biologist, and author who followed a handful of soldier wolves and leopards in India.

Jim Corbett's name has come to be associated with India's oldest and most well-known national parks, as well as the cottage industry that has cropped up around them. Corbett's name lives on in and around the Uttarakhand forests where the legendary hunter-naturalist once lived and whose efforts led in the creation of the national park, from guesthouses to hair salons, basic stores to gift shops.
