This question is based on the short story 'A Snake in the Grass' by R.K. Narayan.
In the story, the family accuses Dasa, the old servant, of being lazy and idyllic as he hasn't cut off the garden grass. Dasa dupes the family by saying that he has caught the snake in a jar and the now there is no cobra. He does this for winning the trust of the new family, to avoid being called lazy and idyllic and to save his job as the family was thinking of replacing him.
