heya buddy!

demand curve slope downward due to inverse relationships of price n demand. higher the price lower the demand n lower the price higher the demand that's why slope of demand curve is downward or negative or inverse.

hope this help!!

because of inverse relationship between price and quantity demanded
LAW OF DIMINISHING MARGINAL UTILITY:as we consume more and more units of commodity the additional utility derived from each successive units tends to diminish.
