in the Hindu month of Kartikamasam which falls sometime during October or November. It is celebrated to mark the return of Lord Rama after 14 years of exile and his victory over the Demon Ravana.

story behind celebrating this festival : Rama is the hero of the story of Diwali, rescuing the kidnapped Sita from her captorl ,Sita, kidnapped by the evil Ravana but rescued by Rama and Hanuman. In the story of Diwali, diya are used to light the way for Rama and Sita's return home.

Explanation:

first day due to the birth of dhanvantari dev

2nd day due to Krishna killed a Raksha named narakasura so we celebrate as narakchaturdashi

3rd day due to Krishna had married to Radha

4th day is padya due to Vishnu Dev had killed balichakravarti

5th day due to ram came back from canvass after 25 yrs

This all situations happened one day after one day so by lightning Deepa that everyone should have there life with brightful things so we will celebrate Diwali so it's just my knowledge what l know
