Let me be clear with my answer.

Karna was hugely overrated by all the daily serials that look to find out/nitpick things. They wanted a protagonist to stand against the Pandavas, look a shade of grey and must be equivalent to Arjuna as he is the hero of the Kurukshetra war. He alone had any chance to be the victor with Krishna standing beside him.

People miss the point that Arjuna had as much opportunity to excel as the other Kauravas or Pandavas in archery. The sons of Pandu did not have enough going for them as well. Their father lost, their kingdom rather usurped. They lived a life of monks till they really know who they were. Ridiculed royally by Duryodhana and his other 99 brothers. It has become a fashion to misinterpret and misrepresent the facts to suit the narration of a story that can make things spicier.

Bhishma was the best warrior on either side of the war. When he rated the warriors, he was clear that Karna was an artha-rathi. I believe this classification ultimately caused the feud which made Karna not enter the war till Bhishma falls.

If Karna really was the best of best, he should have snuffed out Abhimanyu all by himself. He couldn’t do that. I can concede on the fact that Karna was a benevolent person who had knowledge of Karma to an extent that Krishna praised his generosity.

But, Arjuna :- The warrior who pleased Lord Shiva, the person who was picked to be on the side of Lord Krishna, the person who was assisted by Lord Hanuman himself doesn’t have an equal. He had his faults being a human, but he is the perfection that any male can aim for.

There are people greater than him who come from Treta Yuga.

In Dwapara Yuga, Krishna and Bhishma could be greater than him.

There is no equal to Arjuna. Period.
