East India company wanted to establish monopoly on the right to trade because they didn't wanted other countries wanted to do trading with the country with which they do if this happens their priority over the trade for that country will be reduced they thought that only they should be superior
If only east India company is trading with some country then they will get some discounts also this is not possible if more countries trade with a country
