Why did Ernest think the poet was like the Stone Face?

  • The poet wrote beautiful songs with lofty thoughts and he had celebrated the Great  Stone Face in one of his poems. Ernest used to read the poet’s poems and songs and  found them worthy of appreciation. When the poet came to meet Ernest; he looked  wise, gentle and kind. Even the great stone face appeared bending forward hospitably  to listen to his talk. For all these reasons, Ernest began to think the poet was like the  Great Stone Face.
