As during British rule ,Britishers use wood in various small businesses and also cut trees for making sleepers in train and also cut and burn them so that it can't be a safe place for their enemies.
Hence,forests disappear during British rule

because we Indians thought that the forest will be destroyed obviously during war . so they planted after independent
