why did Franz want to spend his day out of doors? ​

Answer: The narrator did not like to go to school and learn, instead he was tempted to stay outdoors to enjoy the parades of Prussian soldiers and the warm sun. Also the narrator had not learnt the rules of participles and dreaded a scolding so he wanted to avoid school. Yes the narrator soon overcame his temptation and went to his class even though he was late.

Franz thought of running away and spending the day out of doors two reasons- 1. He was very late for school

2. His teacher M hamel had told them that he would asked questions on participles
