In 1848 Frederic Sorrieu made a series of 4 prints envisaging his dream of the world that was made up of ‘social and democratic republics’, all of them which did not exist at the time Sorrieu made these prints.

EXPLANATION:

Utopian vision implies vision of a society that is so perfect that it does not appear to be present in actual life. In the year 1848, a prominent French artist named Frederic Sorrieu made a series of 4 prints envisaging his dream of the world that is made up of ‘social and democratic republics’.

Sorrieu's utopian vision implies the way he pictured the world; however it is not likely to be real or true. In Sorrieu’s utopian vision, the people of the world were categorised as separate nations, identified by way of their national costumes and flags. Sorrieu created the image to unite fragmented states into a nation, under a democratic constitution.
