In order to form a class of trained Vietnamese who would ultimately assist the French administration at a very low wage, the French colonizers considered education to be a significant step to civilize the Vietnamese. There were some other factors as well such as to educate the uncivilized countries became a mission of the developed countries of Europe. Moreover, they wanted the Vietnamese to know about the culture of the French and pay respects to their customs.
