Gandhi ji choose to break the salt law because it is one of the most oppressive law implemented by the colonial rulers. It stopped the Indians Monopoly in the manufacture and sale of salt.Salt was an indispensable item which is used in every household and yet Indians were debate from manufacturing it for domestic use .
