Answer:

In may 1944,when Gandhi was released from prison on medical grounds by the new viceroy, lord Wavell in May 1944,Gandhi met Jinnah (R.A) at his home in bombay, the meeting was all about the future of India after the British departure. Although the talk broke up without an agreement. The reasons were:Gandhi wanted Muslim league to support Congress to remove the British.Once the British left the partition would be done. But Jinnah (R.A) knew, why would Congress agree to it once British were gone. He knew that the partition should be secured before the British left. Gandhi also wanted to control the Government to have control over key areas such as defence and foreign policy. But Jinnah (R.A) wanted these matter to be in the hand of provinces . Gandhi who was only the spokesman of India and do not support the two nation theory.
