Why did gandhi reject the communal award?

Mahatma Gandhi Started fast unto death in the Yervada jail again the communal award ,which is also know as the Ramsay MacDonald award because Bhimrao Ambedkar had demanded separate electorate for dalits and British accepted it .As it led to divide the society and may produce communalism.hence,he rejected the communal award.
