Mahatma Gandhi withdrew non-cooperation movement due to the following reasons :-

# Non-cooperation movement was meant to be a peaceful protest, but after the Chauri- Chaura incident, it was evident that the people turned to violence.

# Gandhiji felt that the people of India were not ready for a nation wide movement of mass struggle and felt that he should withdraw the movement.

# Moreover, many members of the Indian National Congress felt that the Non-cooperation movement was tiresome and unnecessary, since they wanted to contest in the elections.

MAHATMA gandhi decided to withdraw the non cooperation movement because:

=> This act was supposed to be a peaceful act which would be against the British rule. But when the chair chairs incident happened, the people were automatically forced to be violent against British cops.

=> secondly, as we know, gandhiji also felt that the people of India are not ready to face the mass struggles which was going to be happened nationwide.

=> Leaders and all the people from the Congress party also thought that this act was unnecessarily organised as it was tiring as well as also becoming violent act in some places of India.
