This was because at that time crops were failed due to epidemic and farmers did not able to pay the tax or revenue .So gandhiji organized satyagraha so that the farmers would not pay the tax or they got the relaxation in paying tax.

There was fail of crops the farmer were not able to pay the tax or revenue and Gandhi decided to go to Kheda a start the satyagraha.
