why did gandhiji withdraw the non cooperation movement after the chauri chaura incident

The main reason behind it was that the gandhi ji was a one of the biggest lover of non violence and Peace. In chauri chara the twenty two police men were killed and station was burnt.
so gandhiji thought that the people have to be trained properly and they have not to do any type of violence so he stopped the movement
