Helen refers to the days as silent and aimless because the many incidents from her early years were fixed in her memory, isolated, clear and distinct but she could not make sense of them anymore. She felt alienated from them she was a different person then, a precocious child. Those were days of her childhood which had been spent in blissful oblivion.

She had said this because before the arrival or miss Sullivan..Helen was subjected to temper and lolniness.though she had loving parents but she found her an able to get everything and to know everything around her and this anger made her depressed and her deeds we aimless and she started living a silent life...with full of darkness which she thought would never end!
