While Helen was still in long dresses, she showed signs of an eager, self-asserting disposition. She was eager to learn and thus insisted upon imitating anything people around her did. At 6 months, she could pipe out "How d'ye" and one day she attracted everyone's attention by saying "tea, tea, tea " quite plainly.
