Helen said so because the memories of that summer vacation at Brewster, on Cape Cod were etched indelibly on her mind. Helen had always wished excitedly to go to sea. When she was told about the vacation, she was delighted at the prospective joys she would experience near the sea. As she reached there, she put on her bathing-suit and plunged into the cool water of the sea. The buoyant motion of the water filled her with exquisite joy. Suddenly her ecstasy was turned into terror; she tripped into the sea water; she was tossed by the waves. Helen began missing the firm grip of the earth. Helen felt quite helpless and thought she might not get out of that fearful situation ever. But at last the waves themselves threw Helen back on the shore. And she felt so safe in the arms of her beloved teacher.
