Helen visited John to inform him that she would no longer help him to write ghost stories as the ghosts were going on a strike. She also promised to help him if he got his friends and acquaintances to stop using the Ouija board.

John was compelled to play the Ouija board and was maligned in front of his wife and her friends as he was called a traitor by Helen. So John's wife threatened to leave him and go back to her grandmother.
