The German-Soviet Pact, which secretly provided for Poland to be partitioned between the two powers, enabled Germany to attack Poland without the fear of Soviet intervention.So the answer for the question: Poland was so fast in capitulation, because it had been just planned by Germany and Poland. With help of Russia the Poland and France could defeat Germany already in 1939, but France, Poland, UK refused to set up any alliance with Stalin.
