1.Germany was TOTALLY screwed in the treaty of versailles. I'm not saying they shouldn't have been punished, but they lost all their colonies, one of their most productive state.
2. The economy was wrecked, as well. The Weimar Republic was not at all an effective cpuntry, and it took Hitler to pull the German people out of poverty. But we ain't through yet.
3. Access to Britain. Hlacing control of Normandy meant smooth sailing across the English Channel. Course Germany never landed, but you get the idea.
4. France declared war on them to begin with for attacking Poland.
5. LOOT! GLORIOUS LOOT! The Nazis took everything they can, whether it be art, books, anything of value, they took it to help finance themselves.

Answer:

Hitler wanted to conquer eastern Europe because he wanted to ensure food supplies and living space for the Germans. He attacked the Soviet union in June 1941. The Red Army inflicted a humiliating defeat on Germany. It was a historic blunder on the part of Germany. Her Western frontiers were exposed to British aerial bombing and eastern Frontier to the Soviet army. The Soviet army established its control over the entire eastern Europe.
