THERE ARE EIGHT REASONS BEHIND THIS INVASION.

  1. One reason was to give Germans lebemsraum (living space) in Eastern Europe. Hitler promise this in Mein Kempf in 1924.
  2. He believed Chamberlain would not stop him. Chamberlain had already stood up tu him but then Chamberlain backed down in Munich. Hitler did not believe Chamberlain would go to war so he continued with his palns against Poland.
  3. To protect all the Germans in Poland. Hitler said the Poles were persecuting the Germans who lived in Poland.
  4. To overturn the Tresty of Versalle. Danzing was declared a free city wich was administrated by League of Nations. Hitler asked Poland to think over Danzing's position on October 1939. Then Hitler demanded Danzing to be given to him.
  5. To oppose Communism/conquer Russia. Russia was communism. Hitler was headed for Russia. Hitler proposed alliance with anti-Soviet against Russia.
  6. To teach Chamberlain a lesson. Hitler wanted to attack Poland to teach Chamberlain a lesson.
  7. Prevent anti-German alliance. The world was beginning to gang on Germany.
  8. Nazi-Soviet pact. Roosevelt and Stalin expressed concerns about Hitler's aims on Poland. The Nazi-Soviet Pact in August 23,1939 included a secret agreement to divide Poland between them.
