Because he did not consider his sons capable of becoming a ruler but after sometimes with the help of Turks the son of Iltutmish named Ruknuddin becme ruler because Turks and other high dignitary ministers consider it a shame for themselves to be ruled by a woman but after sometimes due his incapability he was over-thrown by Razia Sultana who again became the successor.
