"Inam commission act was started to take control over the land for which the revenue was not being paid. It began in the year 1852 by the British.
The Inam act was functioning under the leadership of Lord William Bentinck among various others.
The rent of such lands was increased to extract the excess surplus. It was known as quit-rent. Another reason this act was appointed was fear in the British of total abolition.
