 It's because in India, we follow FPTP system. FPTP stands for First Past the Post. In this system whoever gets more votes than other candidates, is declared elected. ... Voters have to simply endorse a candidate or party while voting.

We know that our country is completely democratic country and the political powers are distributed thorough the public elections.

And the public elections in our country works with the very generic FPTP process (first-past-the-post) where the candidate with maximum votes win the political sit.

We adopted this policy due to it's simplicity which fits perfectly in our democratic political ecosystem.
