Federalism can be defined as a type of government where both the central government and state government are combined in a united political system. India opted for federalism because it gave a written and rigid constitution to us. it gave powers to different levels of government.
In this way, there are some other features as well, which can prove that India has a federal form of government.
India is not a true federation. It combines the features of a federalgovernment and the features of a unitary government which can also be called the non-federal features. Because of this, India is regarded as a semi-federal state
