Oral sources provide unique information because it concedes the tacit view, opinions, faiths, and knowledge of the interviewee in its main structure, thus it is more reliable than the written records. For instance, Indian culture has passed through many stages and court poets could not always record every aspect of the kingdom or empire. Thus people began composing their regional songs and stories related to various aspects of the society. Therefore, in order to get information about regional and sometimes for a national history of a particular state, historians opt for oral sources.
