    Jijabhai was Shivaji’s mother. She knew that the letter that they received was a hoax, which she believed would be written by Aurengzeb, who gave Shivaji fake promises and then cheated him. This was a reason. Another reason was the details of the astrologers who had prophesied that nothing could block Shivaji from conquering the whole area of Maharashtra.

   These were the reasons that made Jijabhai believe that Shivaji was not dead. She even told that the lion and his cubs would return back to their kingdom and would not live in the fox’s den for long.
