It was autumn and the ivy leaves were falling gradually. This depressed an already ill johnsy and strangely enough she associated her health with the falling of leaves. She believed that she would die when the last leaf will fall. But when she saw that despite the harsh weather conditions the last leaf survived, this shines a ray of hope to her. She felt that if the leaf could survive in such conditions then she too can. Now all her negative thoughts changed and she had a scope to live life.
