To make money and gain power, he decided to conquer Gaul.His important political ties to Crassus and Pompey began to fall apart. Pompey took over Rome, and Caesar was forced to either flee or fight him. Caesar chased Pompey all the way to Egypt where Pompey was killed at the hands of the Egyptians.
