- APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15th October in the year 1931.
- He was born in Dhanushkodi, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India
- He was also referred as Missile Man.
- He did his B.Sc. degree from St. Joseph’s.
- However he soon realized that Physics as a subject did not excite him.
- He was more incline to study engineering in order to fulfill his dreams.
- He applied in Madras Institute of Technology for admission which was regarded best for providing technical education to the students.
- He was selected but could not take admission because of lack of money.
- His sister Zohara mortgaged her golden chain and bangles to get him admitted.
- He was highly impressed and awed by the presence of two decommissioned aircrafts which were displayed for demonstration at the institute.
- After completing his first year in the institute he opted for aeronautical engineering in the second year as a specialized subject.
- He died on 27th July in the year 2015.
