He thought that Pytor was a suitable match for Anastasia and he would propose to her.

So, he allowed him to come and meet her everyday dine ,with her, sing love songs and walk hand in hand in this hope so that at least of of his daughters could be settled.

Kondrashkin had six daughters he wanted them to get married soon so he allowed pyotr as he was good looking and gentlemen to come to his houseto dine and talk to his daughter Anastasia in hope that one day he will propose her to marry.
