Lancho said because Lencho did not want the money to be sent through the mail because he did not trust the post office employees and he assumed that they would have stolen money from his envelope. There were only seventy pesos in the envelope. He was confident that God could neither make a mistake nor deny him what he had requested.

lenchothinks that the post office people have taken the money to lencho. but, on the other hand,lencho thinks they have stolen his money .he calls them crooks. thus there is an element of irony in this situation.
