Before the limited overs cricket matches, there were 5- day test matches with limitless overs. Many players were reluctant to play for 5-days as it was quite tire some. Many times, even after 5-days, the match ended in a draw. This resulted in great disappointment of the players. Fans were also tired to wait for 5-days seeing their team struggle and end in draw. Due to this, the leading cricket nations decided to limit the overs in matches to make it more exciting and popular. Hence, the concept of limited overs came into existence.
