why did Louis 16 call a meeting of the estates general? how did the meeting end and what were its repercussions?

He called an assembly because he wanted to increase the taxes and taxes could only be increased if majority of 3 estates are agreed to increase the taxes. In this meeting all 3 estates sit together and vote.Each estate has one vote.

This meeting was known as the estates general.In 1789 the 3rd estate disagreed this system of voting and formed a national revolutionary assembly that demanded a constitution.
